We believe in one God, the Creator of man and all things (Genesis 1:1-2, Colossians 1:16). We believe He exists eternally (Psalm 90:2, John 1:1-3) in three Persons — that of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:4-6). (see also 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Isaiah 45:18)
We believe that humans were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). The sin of humanity (Genesis 3, Romans 3:23) results in not only physical death, but spiritual death as well (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:1). Spiritual death is separation from God, and we cannot return to a right relationship with God by our own effort (Ephesians 2:8-9). (see also Psalm 34:16, Colossians 2:13, Ephesians 2:1-3)
Jesus is the Son of God, and is often referred to as Messiah in Hebrew and Christ in Greek, meaning Anointed One. He emptied himself (Philippians 2:6-7) and was born of Mary through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:23-25). We believe He is God in human form, truly God and truly Man (John 14:9-10, 1 John 5:20). Jesus lived a perfect life and died to save humanity from separation from God (1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 2:1-2). He is the living Word of God (John 1:1) and communicated God’s vision for humanity through every aspect of His being (Hebrews 1:1-2). (see also 1 Timothy 2:5)
We believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). He gave Himself as a sacrifice (Hebrews 9:26, 1 Peter 2:24), so that all who trust in Him are freely justified before God (Romans 3:24) and can enter into an eternal relationship with the Father (John 17:3). Salvation is by grace alone; through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). (see also Colossians 2:13-14, 1 Corinthians 15:3)
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old (Joshua 1:8) and New Testaments (2 Peter 3:15-16) are inspired by God (2 Peter 1:20-21) and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible is God’s special revelation to humanity, which He spoke through human authors to convey spiritual truth about Himself. It is a tool to be used by those who believe He is God, to discern the deepest intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). (see also Acts 2:42; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Ephesians 6:17; Psalm 119:89)
We believe that all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11). They immediately receive the Holy Spirit and a new nature (2 Corinthians 5:17), and they are baptized by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5) into the Body of Christ and thereby become children of God (Romans 8:14). The Holy Spirit enables Christians to develop character (Galatians 5:22-23) and spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12). (see also Acts 1:5)
We believe that every Christian should grow in their relationship with Jesus (2 Peter 1:5-7) through Christian community, spiritual teaching, studying the Bible, and prayer (Acts 2:42). Additionally, the responsibility of all who follow Jesus is to obey the Great Commission: to proclaim the good news of Jesus and make disciples for Christ from people of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8).
We believe that those who trust in Jesus for salvation will spend eternity in fellowship with God, while those who do not trust in Jesus will experience eternal separation from God (Matt 25:46).
THE SECOND COMING
We believe in the Second Coming of Christ – that Jesus will one day return to set up His earthly kingdom and reign over all people, which will be unified with the heavenly kingdom (John 14:1-3, Hebrews 9:28).
