It’s the start of a new week. If you’re anything like me, you already have this whole week scheduled. Today I’m meeting with someone, tomorrow I have a Skype call, Wednesday is dinner with a college friend, Thursday I’m saying “see ya later” to a family that is heading off on a long vacation, and Friday through Sunday is a church conference. And all of this after each day of work, not to mention all the other little things that come up and that are a part of the daily routine. Oh look, we’re back to Monday…
Sometimes when I can’t seem to stop for a breath, that’s exactly what I do. I sit in the eye of the storm and I choose to rest, to abide in Him. I choose to remember – He has it all under control. I’m just here to serve Him and to get to know Him more along the way.
So, on this day we were given, let’s stop and watch the world turn around us as we look at Jesus. Let’s say “thank You” as the things around spin fast, but grow dim.
I challenge you to write down 7 things you’re thankful to the Lord for. Then, encourage a brother or sister to do the same.
Dig deep. Look back. Think. Reflect. Remember.
No matter what your 7 things are, there are definitely 7 things to be thankful for and countless others, too. Make Him your dwelling place today. Don’t forget what He’s done. He deserves more than all we can give!
Here it goes:
Thank You, Lord, for loving me. When I think of Your love, I think of the Cross. You gave Your life for me. You did what it took to get me back to You.
Thank You, Lord, for calling me Yours. I love being loved by the Creator of this universe, my Heavenly Father, my Savior and my BFF. This is such a sweet love story.
Thank You, Lord, for picking me up from the dark pit I landed in almost two years ago. There was nowhere, but up for me. But of course, You put down the ladder. You saved my life. Really, without Your love and constant pursuit, there’s no telling who I would be. You gave me life; You made me new.
Thank You, Lord, for teaching me. Even when I don’t seem to get it right after the 700th time, You still push me to be like You. You are the greatest example of all good things.
Thank You, Lord, for all of the little things.
Thank You, Lord, for today. Today is good. It’s from You.
