“The Know-It-All”
When a child is confused
And needs some sage advice,
He goes to mom and dad
Without even thinking twice.
What comfort there is found
In the Counselor tried and true!
Lord, please quiet our hearts.
You know it all, and we know You.
When pain assails the body
And ideas for cures are gone,
We seek a doctor’s aid
Who can tell us how to get on.
What healing there is found
In the Physician tried and true!
Lord, please quiet our hearts.
You know it all, and we know You.
A student away at college
With more questions than an answer,
May go visit a teacher, and,
To his wisdom will defer.
What clarity there is found
In the Teacher tried and true!
Lord, please quiet our hearts.
You know it all, and we know You!
