What More Can We Say?

We Made It!!

Wow, it’s hard to believe we are at the end of an amazing 5 weeks of music and worshipful devotionals. It’s been so neat to hear from many of you personally. We’ve enjoyed reading your comments and seeing how the Lord has used the Hymn Series as an encouragement to worship the Lord Jesus!

When I was first asked about the Hymn Series, I knew I wanted to be part of sharing hymns with others…

not to bring back old traditions,
but to remind believers – both young and old – of the
timeless truths found in them

The Lord has often used hymns to point me back to Himself, and I find when I have a hymn proverbially “stuck” in my head, it sets my mind on things that are eternal, heavenly, and Christ-centered. On the flip-side, when I have the latest pop song stuck in my head, it draws my affections away from the heavenly and onto the earthly.

One thing I see over and over again as a theme of the Hymn Series is this:

w o r s h i p .

It’s not the song itself that is worship, but the heart being lifted to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. We tried to keep things pretty stripped down musically so that the lyrics could be heard clearly and the heart of the song could shine. I pray that you were encouraged to spend more time in worship through this project! There’s not much more to say than to go onward with a song on your lips!

“What more can He say than to you He has said,
to you who to Jesus for refuge have fled?”

— “How Firm a Foundation”

Use the gifts that God has given you to praise Him, meditate on His Word, and know Jesus more and more. It was really fun to see our musicians and writers do this for God’s glory during this project.

I want to conclude with 2 takeaways:

For God’s glory, I hope seeing and listening to all different people singing to the Lord will encourage you to do the same.

If you have been encouraged by the lyrics of these hymns or others, share them with the people in your life! Spread that encouragement around.

We hope that the Hymn Series has been a means to live out these words:

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. | Colossians 3:16
