I praise God for his word. I trust God, so I am not afraid. What can human beings do to me? | Psalm 56:4
Do you ever think about how much faith we place in the seemingly mundane parts of our every day lives?
Here’s what I mean: Even just sitting here, typing this blog post out, I trust that the roof of my house isn’t going to collapse on top of me. When I start on my commute, I trust that my car isn’t going to implode as soon as I turn on the ignition. On my way to work, I trust that the other drivers know what they’re doing (some, more than others!) so I trust that I will get to work safely with the traffic laws we have set in place. When I have to take a long trip, I trust the pilot to take me hundreds, or even thousands of miles through the air, from Point A to Point B, without a hiccup.
If we really believe that God is the Creator of the universe, we will realize how silly it would be to not trust Him to take care of us. Many of us have found ourselves in situations that seem impossible. Whether we’re seeking to be healed, to find our marriage partner, to have children, to find a way out of debt, to find help from addiction or maybe even to find a way to break through a close friend’s hard heart – have you ever sat there and thought for even a second, “Even God can’t do this”?
that He can.
It’s so easy to get caught in the midst of unbelief and fear, thinking that even God Almighty wouldn’t be able to help you with your situation. But it is so much BETTER to crawl into a kneeling position and tell Him that you’re having difficulty finding the faith you need in Him. If you’re still having trouble trusting Him, the Bible is FULL of stories of men and women in the same position. There are also thousands of biographies that have been written about missionaries who saw God’s help, first-hand in even the most impossible of situations.
He is with you. He sees what you’re going through. Nothing about it is without purpose. He is growing you.
But first, He wants you to trust Him
